Healthy Roots

purE90 used on Southern California produce develops a hearty root system.

Some pristine soils contain most of the elements needed but repeated farming eventually saps these elements from the ground. Growers compensate this known deficiency with fertilizers. Traditional fertilizers, however, do not contain the full array of elements required by the human body and lack other key ingredients such as: enzymes, live bacteria and microbes. We know how important these essential elements are to revitalizing soil nutrients, and we want to share this information with you and other growers.

Carlos E. Ortiz
Carlos E. OrtizCarlos E. Ortiz, who routinely tests pure ocean water and products has earned a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is currently working on his Ph. D. in biochemistry from UCSB. In addition to his work on biochemical structures using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), he has also done extensive research on humic material. Using Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES) he compared the chelation of metal ions by humics and by ethylenediamine tetraacetate (EDTA). He determined that small amounts of humics are capable of binding metals ions more efficiently then EDTA. In addition to the chelation studies, he helped to determine the optimal application rates of humic materials in commercial farming environments. He continues to teach and combines a lifelong interest in agriculture with a strong chemical background.
